It was a dream of Issac Tigrett to bring the music of the rural south to the world. Thus he created the House of Blues which caters to genres such as Blues, R&B, Gospel, Jazz and Rock & Roll. There are locations across the United States; one of them is located in North Myrtle Beach in Barefoot Landing. Based on Mr. Tigrett’s plan the House of Blues is dedicated to education and promotion of Southern Culture and African American musical and artistic contributions.
The North Myrtle Beach location was built to replicate an old southern farmhouse with attached tobacco warehouse. The roof of this venue uses authentic tin from a tobacco barn just outside of Jackson, Mississippi. Displayed prominently over the stage is the traditional “Crazy Quilt” and a metal box of Mississippi Delta mud is kept below the stage.
The cuisine offered at the House of Blues consists primarily of southern comfort foods from various southern regions of the United States. Enjoy a full meal that fills you up and sticks to your ribs while enjoying the variety of live entertainment that flows through the doors. Murder Mystery Dinner Theater, tribute bands, stand up comedians, gospel brunches and musical stars all grace the stage.
Tickets are available in advance and at the door. The Myrtle Beach House of Blues recommends purchasing tickets in advance for headline names as they sell out quickly. Advanced tickets are available through the House of Blues website or by calling their box office.
