Ripken Baseball Tournament
Ripken Baseball Tournament often referred to as the “Ripken Experience” has two locations one is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Created by Cal Ripken and his brother Bill Ripken (retired MLB second baseman) to honor the game they have loved since their childhood. Players ages ten to eighteen have a chance to play on replica major league fields in various tournaments.
Tournaments are played on fields designed to look like Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox), Oriole Park at Camden Yard (Baltimore Orioles) and Polo Grounds (New York Mets). The fields are also available for youth group or leagues to host their own tournaments in a professional setting.
There are bleachers and seating in the greens for spectators. Field Turf is used for both the infield and outfield and the fields are all well lit for night games. There are seven diamonds, five youth and two professional. Concessions, merchandise, photography and restrooms are located in the welcome center. The training island includes three Ripken designed infield training circles, bullpen mounds, batting cages and bunting mounds. There is a courtesy shuttle available for transportation around the complex.
There are a variety of packages to choose from including a stay at Myrtlewood Villas luxury condominiums that offer one, two and three bedrooms. Area hotels and resort accommodations are available close to the complex as well. The “Ripken Experience” allows young baseball players to enjoy the feel of a major league baseball experience.
